Talk – Advocating for Yourself at Work
Corporate Workshop
Advocating for Yourself at Work
In order to effectively engage with formal career development planning processes and mentoring programs, employees must develop the skills to discover and articulate what they want at work. This skill set is a crucial piece of the puzzle for early- and mid-career professionals that want an enjoyable career, and for managers hoping to retain high-performing staff.
This workshop helps employees and managers alike uncover the language, tools, and conversations required to create meaningful career development plans and uncover mentoring opportunities.
This workshop explores a four-step plan that helps employees lay the groundwork for a more self-directed career path. We'll cover:
- Understanding your value as an employee
- Discovering and communicating your ambitions
- Managing and communicating your expectations
- Asking for what you want
The goal of this workshop is to give attendees a framework to engage with their employers around their
career path, and create dialogue on development opportunities.
